Under-Screed Void Filling
Levels irregularities with a lightweight infill; limits structural load increase while improving thermal and acoustic performance.
Recommended: Granules
A lightweight, fully natural infill obtained by granulating ICB boards. Used for filling floor voids under screeds, in lightweight concrete/screed mixes and for acoustic correction.
Levels irregularities with a lightweight infill; limits structural load increase while improving thermal and acoustic performance.
Directly add granules into the cement–sand mix to achieve lightweight mixes with thermal and acoustic benefits. Example: 14 cm concrete + 7 cm lightweight concrete with granules + 4 cm screed → Ln,r,w ≈ 62 dB.
| Material | 100% expanded cork granules (from ICB) |
| Bulk density | ≈ 65–80 kg/m³ (loose fill) |
| Thermal conductivity λ | ≈ 0.045–0.050 W/m·K |
| Granulometry | 0–2, 2–4, 2–9, 3–15, 4–8, 4–10 mm |
| Dosage (Cement : Sand : Granules) | Unit weight (kg/m³) | Compressive (kg/cm²) | λ (W/m·K) |
| 1 : 0 : 4 | ≈ 500 | ≈ 6 | ≈ 0.18 |
| 1 : 2 : 6 | ≈ 900 | ≈ 11 | ≈ 0.24 |
| Band | Low | Mid | High |
| Mix A | ≈ 0.22 | ≈ 0.70 | ≈ 0.84 |
| Mix B | ≈ 0.16 | ≈ 0.20 | ≈ 0.48 |
* Values are indicative; results vary by mix ratio, granulometry, placement density and system build-up.
